Welcoming Rachel's Joy: A new beginning in WA

We’re delighted to introduce Rachel’s Joy—a new residential home for women, right in the heart of our WA community. This beautiful Palmyra house (see photos below) has been generously made available by Rachel from the St Paul’s community, offering a safe, stable, and supportive environment for women seeking a fresh start.

More than just a home, Rachel’s Joy will become a vibrant space of healing and growth. In addition to providing transitional accommodation, the home will also host regular art therapy sessions—creating space for self-expression, reflection, and connection. Our companioning volunteers, along with our social enterprise outreach, will once again walk alongside women ready to change their lives.

We extend heartfelt thanks to everyone who has made this possible. To 100 Women, Cana Communities WA Volunteers, St Paul’s Anglican Church (Beaconsfield, WA), Just Manna, Pilgrims, family, friends, and our wider community—thank you for your generosity and belief in what we do. Your support continues to create ripples of change.

Finding peace and protection: Jayda's Story

Jayda, one of the first residents at Rachel’s Joy, shares what having a safe place to call home means to her.

Hi, my name is Jayda and I am 47 years of age. I know there are plenty of people who aren’t fortunate enough to say they have a place to live, and my heart goes out to them.

I was homeless for a while and was facing my own demons with addiction.

I’m grateful to be living at Rachel's Joy — it’s a roof over my head and I’m warm this winter. It's comforting to know that I also have the support from the amazing people from Cana Communities, and I have a safe place to find peace in at the end of the day. Rachel's Joy is a home where I return to every day for protection and comfort. It's a place of serenity and it has made me feel safe and supported.

If you’d like to support Rachel’s Joy and help us continue this important work, donations can be made via our donation page.

Every contribution helps us create safe spaces and new beginnings for the women and men in our community.
